Excellent example of a classic English glass haberdashery shop counter made by one of the best makers Pollards. The carcass is principally made from oak and the internal draw frame a mixture of oak and ash. The drawer fronts are oak and the drawer boxes are finger jointed ash, the cabinet retains all its original ebonised handles. The cabinet frame is solid brass throughout and the feature of this unusually rare cabinet is the original imperial yard stick measure stamped in the brass frame. The cabinet has fifteen tiered drawers with the practical glass display shelf and two sliding doors. Our workshop has serviced and gently restored the cabinet repairing minor drawer damage and replacing any worn drawer runners ensuring that all drawers run smoothly, a stunning original piece. Our workshop has cleaned and rejuvenated the cabinet throughout, keeping the original character but ensuring the cabinet is ready for a second life. Internal drawer dimensions 32W x 12H x 44L for the top drawers through to 57L for the bottom drawers. All cm. Glass shelf 181W x 24D.
