Antique Meissen Hand Painted Gilt Porcelain Cake Tazza Pedestal Stand Tray, 1860-1914

This marvelous antique cake tazza is created in gorgeous white embossed porcelain with hand painted formal motif and a very robust embossed gold gilt border. The inner portion of the plate surface has a gold metal medallion to cover the screw that attaches the top to the pedestal. There are roses, daisies and peonies hand painted in beautiful blue, purple, rose, yellow, white and green over a white embossed surface. The exquisite tiered border is also embossed with a floral motif, but is painted with fabulous gold gilt. The pedestal base is tapered into a base surrounded by gold gilt in an embossed floral motif. Meissen stamp on bottom of base: two, knobbed, crossed swords with an I and IS, hand painted. On the underside of the cake plate impressed: / / 162. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Cake plate diameter=11-5/8 inches, Height from top of plate to bottom of pedestal=3-5/8 inches. This marvelous Meissen cake stand has been well cared for, gently used and is in excellent antique condition, free from chips, cracks or other imperfections with all paint and gold gilt intact.
